ace combat × unknw — game awards 2025 teaser
30-second full-CG cinematic for ACE combat, presented at game awards 2025. no AI — only CG and footage tools.
this project was a fast-paced collaboration with petrol advertising, who led the ideation, creative direction, editorial, and art direction, while the unknw team handled the animation aspects of the production of the teaser. within a two-week timeline, we produced a fully cg cinematic for ace combat presented at the game awards 2025. working from petrol advertising's creative vision and direction, our role was to bring the provided visuals into a visually striking, story-driven piece, while preserving the tone from the provided foundational edit, and atmosphere of the ace combat universe. from technical planning to final delivery, unknw managed all animation stages of production — ensuring a seamless and efficient workflow under tight deadlines. the result was a cinematic teaser that brought the original creative direction to life and was showcased on one of the biggest gaming stages of the year.

we really do recommend watching this one with sound on
the teaser is a full cg video, with every asset, animation, and effect built by hand or combined with footages. no ai tools were used for the final piece
the project was crafted using a tight cg pipeline based on cinema 4d and embergen, handling everything from animation to simulations. post-production and final polish were completed in after effects and premiere pro
the timeline for this project was rather tight but the whole process took just two weeks from the briefing to the final file upload
our team moved shot by shot with a clear plan and fast decision-making. thanks to that approach, we delivered the entire video on time without sacrificing quality or detail

besides delivering the video itself, our job was also to make sure it split correctly across multiple screens without introducing visible artefacts. we found a solution that made the splits almost invisible for viewers sitting in the center.
